Chiro Cainta marks 45th anniversary

CAINTA, Rizal, August 24, 2013—The Chiro Youth Movement Philippines in Cainta celebrated its 45th year anniversary with activities spread in three Sundays of August focusing on how Chiro fortified the lives of current and alumni members.


Themed “Fortified @ Forty Five,” the celebration on August 4 kicked off with a Mass, motorcade around the municipality and fun games.


The following Sunday, August 11, another mass and recollection with the topic “How has Chiro fortified my life”? was held.


On August 18, the thanksgiving mass and grand celebration was held focused on the theme, “How Chiro helped my life now?”


In his homily during the thanksgiving mass, Fr. Antonio Tanchoco, CICM, co-chaplain of Chiro talked about how the youth group has been helping in the formation of children and young people.


He also acknowledged the efforts of leaders who actively serve the movement even without remuneration and most of the time would even shell out their personal resources.


The re-installation of group leaders, re-commitment of leaders, induction rites of new leaders and promotion from aspirant leaders were done during the Mass, conducted by Chiro Pilipinas national leader Ldr. Olan Vera Cruz.


The program included production numbers from members, leaders and alumni, as well as video presentations, testimonies from members, present leaders and alumni leader.


Around 200 alumni leaders, parents, members of the Chiro Pilipinas National Council, Chiro local groups, priests, Mayor Kit Nieto, and parishioners of the Our Lady of Light Parish attended the event.


The celebration was headed by group leaders Jimmy Molina and Trisha Pineda. (Jandel Posion)
