MANILA, April 18, 2013—Youth leaders from the National Capital Region (NCR) council remains in partnership with the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) despite calls from certain sectors for partisan poll watchers to take a leave from poll watching and monitoring duties.

NCR youth leader Peter Pardo said that the young people abide with the instructions from bishops of dioceses in the region.

“So far, NCR bishops have no instructions that we, the young people should leave PPCRV. We prefer to stay non-partisan, thus continue to help PPCRV as volunteers for poll watching and monitoring duties,” Pardo added.

“Personally, I haven’t received any reports that there are youth volunteers who are taking a leave because they are endorsing or promoting a certain candidate. So I can say that we, the youth volunteers and the youth leaders remain non-partisan,” Pardo stressed.

PPCRV’s operation is on-going and recruiting more volunteers, especially the young particularly in NCR. (Jandel Posion)
