MANILA, Sept. 26, 2013—In order to serve the youth ministry better, national youth ministers from member organizations of the Federation of National Youth Organization (FNYO) attended the “Unang Hakbang” formation program held last September 20-22 at the Bukal ng Tipan Center in Taytay, Rizal.

Unang Hakbang is a formation program for youth ministers that will help them understand and deepen their ministry by owning the contents of “Ka-Lakbay,” the directory for Catholic Youth Ministry in the Philippines, published and facilitated by the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth.

Ka-Lakbay is the companion and guide of youth ministers in their continuing ministry with young people.

Around 30 youth ministers from Salesian Youth Movement, Chiro Youth Movement, CFC-Singles for Family and Life, CFC-Youth for Family and Life, Filipino Youth with a Mission, Youth for Mary and Christ, Student Catholic Action of the Philippines, Filipino-Chinese Catholic Youth, Columbian Squires and Institucion Teresiana Youth attended the two-day activity.

Currently, the formation program is a continuing project that is being held in different youth ministries in dioceses and youth organizations or movements around the country. (Jandel Posion)
