{"id":17982,"date":"2013-09-27T10:49:52","date_gmt":"2013-09-27T02:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cbcpnews.com\/cbcpnews\/?p=23451"},"modified":"2013-09-27T10:49:52","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T02:49:52","slug":"pro-life-group-to-hold-running-cycling-event-to-promote-advocacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cbcponlineradio.net\/pro-life-group-to-hold-running-cycling-event-to-promote-advocacy\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro-life group to hold running, cycling event to promote advocacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">MANILA, Sept. 27, 2013\u2014Aiming to defend life and family values against modern influences of secularization, a civic organization will be holding a sporting event to unite Filipinos toward building a nation that adheres with pro-life ideals.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pro-Life Philippines will be bringing together Filipinos from all walks of life to a fun run and bike riding event dubbed as \u201cRun-Bike-LIVE \u2014 for a Pro-Life Nation\u201d on December 8 at the Marikina Riverbanks.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his endorsement letter, Antipolo Bishop Gabriel Reyes, who is also the Episcopal Commission on Family and Life chairman of the Catholic Bishops\u2019 Conference of the Philippines, urged the faithful to join the activity and contribute in the promotion of pro-life ideals while maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur society has been under the grip of the Culture of Death, something that has manifested itself in the various aspects of our lives as Catholics, like the media, the internet, education, in our culture, and in our politics,\u201d he said.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this Year of Faith, it is appropriate that we promote the values of life, family, and marriage, which are the cornerstones of our society. Without these values, we cannot hope for a better future for our children,\u201d Reyes added.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The event will run from 5 to 9 in the morning, with 2 race divisions in its slate\u20143km and 5km.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Registration to the event is free but donations are encouraged from participants who would like to avail of the event singlet, jersey, t-shirt, wristband, and bib.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the event will be used to settle the costs of the different educational projects and campaigns of the organization.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Interested participants may contact the Pro-Life Secretariat at 733-7027 (life@prolife.org.ph) or the event organizer at 09172753818 (<a href=\"mailto:eventologist@ymail.com\">eventologist@ymail.com<\/a>).
