HOLY ROSARY MINOR SEMINARY, Naga City, Feb. 18, 2015 — The call of every Christian is to live a life of love and holiness, the call to be saints.
This is what Holy Rosary Minor Seminary Rector Fr. Mario Arnulfo Gaite stressed at the closing Eucharistic celebration for the Day of the Youth last Sunday, Feb. 15. He said, “Holiness is not exclusive for religious people” and exhorted those present that “we, [the lay faithful], can be holy in our works and in our own professions.”
Gaite, who is currently the Rector of the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary, advised the youth to tell the Lord everyday, “I want to become a saint.”
Knowing our FRIEND and ENEMY
In every vocation one chooses for himself, it is necessary to identify the friends and enemies one will have. In his homily, Gaite highlighted the meaning of “CHRIST”, one’s good friend in his chosen vocation. The acronym, as Gaite shared, is as follows:
C-ommitment
H-umility
R-esponsibility
I-ntegrity
S-acrifice
T-emperance
According to him, these are what Jesus Jesus Christ showed to His people. Hence, it is important that one reminds himself of these and focus on practicing them as one lives out his chosen vocation.
In addition, Gaite also gave the acronym for SATAN, one’s number one enemy.

Vocation month
At the end of his homily, Gaite stressed: “If you know your friend and your enemy, you succeed in whatever vocation you [choose].”
The Day for the Youth was organized by the Caceres Commission on Vocations for the celebration of the Vocation Awareness Month this February in the Archdiocese of Caceres.
