MANILA, July 16, 2013—The Supreme Court sitting en banc voted 8 to 7 to “indefinitely” extend the 120 days Status Quo Ante (the way things were before) order against Republic Act 10354 or the Reproductive Health Law, said Theodore Te, Supreme Court’s Chief Public Information Officer.

The RH law was enacted by President Benigno Aquino III in December 21 last year but the SC issued a temporary restraining order last March halting its implementation.

The High Tribunal is set to resume its oral arguments on July 23 at 2 p.m.

Atty. Luisito Liban is expected to argue on the provisions involving the freedom of religion, freedom of speech and academic freedom. (Angelique Guevarra)
