RCAM, kin mourn demise of senior priest

MANILA, Jan. 30, 2015—On behalf of the Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM), Archbishop Luís Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle expresses sadness over the loss of one of the senior clergyman of the Archdiocese of Manila, Msgr. Marcelino O. Reyes, and requests the faithful prayers for the repose of his soul.

“The auxiliary bishop and clergy of the Archdiocese of Manila; nephews and nieces, relatives and friends deeply mourn the demise of Rev. Msgr. Marcelino O. Reyes, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Manila, who passed away on Jan. 26, 2015 at the age of 80,” shares Tagle in a statement.

Reyes’ assignments in the Archdiocese of Manila were as follows: parish priest of Parish of the Holy Spirit; DRBF Homes, Quezon City; Holy Family Parish, Roxas District, Quezon City; Santo Niño Parish, Bago Bantay, Quezon City; and Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Bacood, Sta. Mesa, Manila.

As parochial vicar, he served St. John the Baptist Parish (Quiapo Church) Manila; and was assistant parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Calamba St., Sampaloc, Manila and San Felipe Neri Parish, Mandaluyong City.

Reyes’ remains lie in state at Sto. Niño Parish, Bago Bantay, Quezon City.

Interment will be at the La Loma Cemetery, Kalookan City immediately after the 1:00 p.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Santo Niño Parish, Bago Bantay, Quezon City. (Raymond A. Sebastián/CBCP News)
