Pro-Life Philippines spiritual director dies at 63

MANILA, August 7, 2013—The spiritual director of Pro-Life Philippines Foundation has passed away August 4 of yet undetermined cause.

Rev. Fr. Vicente Cajilig, OP was rushed at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) hospital early afternoon of Sunday due to abdominal pain but passed away at around 5:30 pm. He would have turned 64 on Sept. 26.

Cajilig once served as the Executive Secretary of The Office of Education and Student Chaplaincy of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and as College Chaplain of Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

The priest’s remains lie at the Letran College Chapel since yesterday, August 6, and will be transferred for interment to Sto. Domingo Church on Friday, August 9.

Last year, Sr. Mary Pilar Verzosa, RGS, who started the pro-life movement in the Philippines died of Herniation Syndrome secondary to cerebral bleed. (Paul De Guzman)
