MANILA, July 3, 2013—Many pro-life advocates are set to show their support on the festive gathering being organized by the Filipinos for Life (F4L) on July 9 as oral arguments begin on the Reproductive Health (RH) law or Republic Act (RA) 10354.

Buhay Partylist Representative Lito Atienza said they filed for participation on the intervention of the implementation of the RH law on Tuesday.

“We will be there at the Supreme Court. We also join the call of Bishop Gabriel Reyes, chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life (ECFL) to start the day [with] a mass which we will attend,” Atienza said.

He, however emphasized that Buhay’s argument is very clear and simple, the constitutional provision that will guarantee the right to life.

“Buhay will always be against population control, any anti-life measure will be opposed and resisted. Our opposition to any anti-life [bills] basically, inherently, and fundamentally is within our principles and philosophy,” Atienza added.

Instead of a rally, a festive gathering is being organized for everyone who oppose R.A. 10354 next Tuesday, July 9 along Padre Faura Street, in front of the Supreme Court.

A mass will be celebrated before the festive program at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Guia in Ermita, Manila at 9 a.m.

Aside from being a show of support to the lawyers and petitioners against the RH law, the event is meant to communicate a decidedly pro-life message to the public. (Jandel Posion)
