Pro-life leaders to speak at a national Congress for life in Cebu

MANILA, Nov. 10, 2012—Cebu City plays host to another big gathering of luminaries and workers in the pro-life movement as the National “Philippines for Life” Congress 2012, organized by Human Life International (HLI) Pilipinas happens on November 16-17.

The first day’s activities will be held at the Summit Circle Hotel ballroom while the second day will take place at St. Teresa College auditorium.

The conference gathers pro-life leaders from the government, the Church and the private sector to impart their knowledge and insight on varied topics. Among the speakers are former Senator Francisco “Kit” Tatad, former Manila Mayor Jose “Lito” Atienza, Zambales Representative Ma. Milagros “Mitos” Magsaysay, Cagayan Representative Juan “Jackie” Ponce Enrile, Jr., HLI-Asia & Oceania director Dr. Ligaya Anacta-Acosta, CBCP Legal Office executive secretary Atty. Jo Aurea Imbong, former Supreme Court Justice Renato Corona, Pro-Life Philippines president Eric Manalang, and Cebu Catholic Charismatic Communities chair Fe Barino.

Several Cebu legislators and mayors will also grace the event, which starts with registration at 10 a.m.

Titles of talks in the conference program include The Role of Vigilance in Preserving Faith & Freedom; Authentic Christian Citizenship: Call of the Hour; The State of Philippine Politics Today; RH and MDG: How to Mangle the Filipino Soul; Population and Good Governance: Real Keys to Philippine Progress.

Mass will be celebrated on the first day of the two-day event, with Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal presiding.

Congress’ fee is P1,500 per participant including meals and kit but excluding hotel accommodations. Participants who prefer to include an overnight stay at the Congress venue in the package may do so for P2,700.
