MANILA, Dec. 5, 2013—A praise and worship concert was held last November 30 in Cebu City to raise funds for quake victims and restoration of churches in Bohol that were devastated by the 7.2 magnitude temblor.

Organized by FUEL or the Family of United and Empowered Leaders, the 8th district of the Commission on Youth of the Archdiocese of Cebu, the concert was endorsed by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.

Themed “Refuel your Faith: Go and make Disciples of all Nations,” the event mirrored the Catholic Church’s celebration of the Year of Faith and the recent 2013 World Youth Day celebration in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event was a culminating activity of the Year of Faith and anniversary celebration of the National Thanksgiving Mass for San Pedro Calungsod.

Held at the Pope John XXIII Seminary football field, over 1,000 young people from parishes, schools and organization attended the event.

FUEL member-groups such as Oasis of Love Youth Ministry, Catholic Charismatic Carolinians, Youth Apostolate of Fatima, Marian Youth Cenacle Movement, Youth for Christ, and the Sacred Heart Catholic Charismatic Community presented praise and worship songs during the event.

A member of the Singles for Christ-Global gave a talk based on the theme of the event.

The Cebu Diocesan Youth Coordinating Council also launched officially the 29th Local World Youth Day celebration this coming 2014. (Jandel Posion)
