MANILA, Feb. 2, 2015 — The Parish Pastoral Council fo Responsible Voting (PPCRV) will be offering a Mass on Feb. 3 at the St. Maria Goretti Parish Church in Pius XII Catholic Center at 6:00 p.m. for the 44 police officers who perished in the “Mamasapano Black Sunday”.

“PPCRV is in solidarity with the nation’s grief over the horrific tragedy that snuffed out the lives of brave, young police officers and men in the Special Action Forces (SAF). We mourn the loss of lives on both sides of the divine in this enduring conflict in Mindanao,” said PPCRV National Chairperson Amb. Henrietta T. De Villa in a statement.

The Eucharistic celebration to be concelebrated by PPCRV priest-coordinators and headed by Msgr. Hernando Coronel of the Archdiocese of Manila and Rector of San Carlos Seminary will be held exactly 9 days after the Jan. 25 tragedy in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, which left 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) dead.

“One life lost in armed conflict disturbs our collective consciences…the continuing loss of countless lives does violence to our national soul,” De Villa added. (CBCPNews)
