MANILA, May 8, 2013— The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) will be offering services where voters, journalists and candidates can easily track information related to the May 13 polls.
Ana Singson, PPCRV Communications and Media Director, said these new services include giving legal advice, election results and other concerns by just calling 52-PPCRV or 527-7278.
The first one, she said, is a “call center” with 10 distinct hotlines that candidates, voters, volunteers or anyone may call from 8am to 10pm to report any concerns or to check the status of the elections.
The people can also avail of the PPCRV’s first “Call for my Tally” service if they want to know the vote count of any national and local position until the mayoral candidate.
“We can give you the data anytime you call. This will be manned by seminarians so you can be sure that the data they are reading in the computer is exactly the data that they are going to give you over the phone,” Singson said.
“So this is open to candidates, political parties, to the press, to interested citizens. Again, no waiting time, no paper works, no bureaucracy,” she said.
The PPCRV command center also has “Call a Lawyer” program where anyone can call for legal assistance from their in-house lawyers before, during and after elections.
Atty. Marina Demetrio, PPCRV legal counsel, said three lawyers will be available per shift for 24 hours to assist not only volunteers but even voters who have concerns about the elections.
“We will assist also the voters and volunteers in drafting complaints or getting assistance and bring this to the appropriate agency,” Demetrio said.
They also have “Copy It!” service for candidates or anyone who want copies of the election returns.
“You can come here (PPCRV command center) and have it copied and of course you will pay for the bill of costs,” Singson said.
They also have “Look Up and See” service where an up to date election results will be flashed in LED screens installed in many parts of the country.
In Metro Manila, the large screens will be set-up at the Eastwood Mall in Quezon City, Bacoor City, Philippine General Hospital compound and Plaza Miranda, both in Manila, ad Wesnt Service Road in Parañaque City
“If you have any concerns, we can help you. We are trying to make your one stop shop for the election,” Singson added.
