MANILA, Nov. 16, 2013—The Pontifical Mission Society in Haiti expressed its sympathies to the Church in the Philippines, in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda.

The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Haiti sent a letter to Fr. Socrates Mesiona, MSP, PMS Philippines director, expressing their sympathies and assurance of prayers and support.

“I am writing to you this letter, expressing the solidarity of the animators of PMS in Haiti to you and your people and the Church in the Philippines,” Fr. Clarck de la Cruz, director of PMS Haiti.

He said he was utterly shocked and felt very sad with the massive destruction brought by the typhoon that left thousands of people dead in Eastern, Western and Central Visayas.

“Many families are experiencing difficult times. I think about the children, the young people who died and many families who are suffering right now,” he added.

De la Cruz extended the Haitian’s people assurances of compassion, affection and prayers to the Filipino people. (Jandel Posion)
