MANILA, July 8, 2011—Organizers of the World Youth Day (WYD) in Spain have invited young Filipino Catholics to participate in the “WYD Universal Rosary,†which they envisioned to be prayed in all languages.
In an invitation sent to the Episcopal Commission on Youth of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, the WYD Main Acts office in Madrid urged Filipino youth, who may either participate or not in the WYD next month, to record “Our Father,†“Hail Mary†and “Glory Be†spoken in their native languages or dialects in mp4 format. Prayers can be recited individually or by groups.
“[The] Atmosphere, place, language… will be as you like. [The] more original, [the] better it will be. You can record at home, at your leisure time, your parish, with your friends, with your family, you can add some images. Every way will be good if you choose it and express correctly,†the organizers of the WYD Universal Rosary said.
Audio-video recordings can be submitted to the organizers online through email address rosario@jmj2011madrid.com or send CDs and DVDs or the mp4 files to the WYD Main Acts office in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz, 2b, 8003 Madrid (Spain), Tfn. +34913426779.
According to the WYD Main Acts office, the prayer recordings will accompany the praying of the Holy Rosary during the Vigil with the Pope, scheduled on August 20.
“As you know, one of the most important programmed acts is the Holy Rosary guided by the Pope, and we consider your help absolutely essential. For this reason, we will be very grateful if you could spread this proposal in all your Episcopal Conference, Movement or Youth Delegation, in order to encourage a lot of young people to send their records so that, in this way, they participate in the WYD Holy Rosary, where every languages and accents could sound and offer this prayer to Our Mother, the Blessed Virgin,†said Mercedes Boudet of the WYD Main Acts office.
ECY Executive Secretary Fr. Conegundo Garganta has already forwarded the invitation of the WYD Main Acts office to the leaders of groups that will join the official ECY delegation to WYD in Madrid from August 16 to 21. (YouthPinoy)
