MANILA, Sept. 6, 2016 – In celebration of the Year of Mercy, which will be drawing to a close in a few months, Persons with Disabilities are invited to the 4th Pilgrimage with Jesus and Mary for Persons with Disabilities to be held on Sept. 10, Saturday, 8:00 a.m., at the St. James the Greater Parish in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

“The event aims to bring God’s love and hope to persons with disabilities,” said Gay Ace Domingo, PR volunteer for the said event.

Carrying the theme “The Mercy of God is for All”, the pilgrimage aims to help participants:

  • Know that they (persons with intellectual disability) are  important members of the Church by experiencing active participation and receiving full attention in the pilgrimage’s activities;
  • Unite as one body (different organizations for persons with intellectual disability) of Christ through a pilgrimage lead by his eminence, Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales;
  • Experience the gifts which persons with intellectual disability can offer to the family, community, and the Church, according to the vision of Jesus; and
  • Plant a seed of inspiration on everyone to let persons with intellectual disability find a place in a life of the Church.

Organized by the Guanellian Order, an association of individuals, groups, and Christian lay associations “inspired by the life, spirit and charism of St. Louis Guanella”, the event will have Manila Archbishop Emeritus Guadencio Cardinal Rosales as guest of honor.

The event’s program will include prayer, a procession, talks, workshops, dance, and a Eucharistic Celebration. (Nirva’ana Ella Delacruz/CBCPNews)
