PASIG City, Jan. 30, 2013—To ensure good leadership, the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Pasig has intensified its programs for young people through a youth assembly and retreat for youth leaders.

Held last January 29 at the John Paul II Formation Center of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Pasig, the 1st youth assembly for the year 2013 focused on reports from parishes and vicariates and more updates on youth programs and events for the whole year round.

The quarterly meeting is also a fellowship day for the youth leaders of the diocese where they can bond and relax.

Attended by more than 50 youth leaders from 30 parishes and 4 vicariates, the assembly helped them understand the importance of updating each one and report on issues concerning the youth of their respective parishes or vicariates.

Meanwhile, on January 25 t0 27, more than 30 youth leaders from different parishes in the diocese have gathered for their annual diocesan youth retreat.

With the topic “Discipleship of Christ, Missionary for Spirituality”, the retreat held at the Immaculata Retreat House and Ecological Center in Quezon City focused on the theme ‘Disconnect + Reconnect = LOVE.’

Retreat speakers were Mr. Patrick Del Rosario and Mr. Alexander Bien who expounded on the topic of self discovery.

Both teachers from Pateros Catholic School, the speakers also talked about strengthening relationships with God and other people.

The retreat helped youth leaders to detach themselves from concerns, problems, issues and from the use of gadgets even for a while to be able to see and understand the most important things in life. (Jandel Posion/CBCPNews)
