PASIG City, April 26, 2013—To ensure a Clean, Honest, Accountable, Meaningful and Peaceful (CHAMP) midterm poll, the diocese of Pasig initiated a diocesan event to remind the faithful to vote wisely in the forthcoming election.

Titled “Bike for CHAMP 2013 Election,” the event will also be a voters’ education campaign on the road carrying the slogan “I Choose God, I Vote Good!”

Slated on May 1, the cycling event will start at 5 a.m. in front of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig en route to Pasig, Pateros and Taguig.

The biking activity will end at the Pasig Catholic College (PCC) with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 8 a.m. to be officiated by Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara.

Organized by the local Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) of the diocese, the activity will be joined by around 1,500 bikers coming from different parishes, biking groups and individuals within the diocese.

While carrying the banner “I Choose God, I Vote Good!”, the event also signifies the diocese’s stand for the dignity of life, the sanctity of the human person, the protection of Filipino family and the Filipino values, the right of workers, the poor and the marginalized, care for God’s creation, and the promotion of peace.
