MANILA, June 1, 2013—The Diocese of Pasig will join Pope Francis in a simultaneous Eucharistic Adoration on June 2, Feast of Corpus Christi, that aims to unite Catholics in prayer around the world.

Heeding the call of the Holy Father for a worldwide hour of Eucharistic Adoration, Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara called on the flock of the diocese to join the Pope in an hour of Eucharistic Adoration at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Feast of Corpus Christi, at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

In a circular letter to parish priests, rectors and chaplains of parishes, shrines and chaplaincies, Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Mar Baranda asked for 50 delegates from each parish to join the bishop and the Holy Father in this special event during the celebration of the Year of Faith.

The event is in line with the celebration of the Year of Faith, which one of the objectives is to intensify the celebration of Faith in the liturgy, especially in the Eucharist, which is the summit towards which the activity of the Church is directed and also the source from which all its power flows (Porta Fidei No. 9).
