QUEZON City, Dec. 10, 2012—In line with the celebration of the Year of Faith, the young people from the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine Parish in New Manila held a Taize Prayer last November 30.
Themed “Live in Faith, not by sight”, the event aimed to activate and set ablaze the faith of the young and to lead them in a deep and intimate unity with Jesus Christ, so that they too will be herald of the Good News.
More than 150 young people from New Manila area attended the activity. Aside from the Taize prayer, an adoration of the cross and catechesis were also done during the event.
The catechesis emphasized the three dimensions of faith presented in the Catechism for Catholic Filipinos which are beliefs, actions and worship (KPK 128-133) as well as the meaning of the Catholic faith based on the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines—the Catholic faith being recognized, loved and following Christ, His Church (PCP II, 36).
