MANILA, Oct. 11, 2011?After the successful first run of the Youth Forum in Malolos City (Central Luzon Region), the second run will take place in the diocese of Naval for the Central and Eastern Visayas Region on October 29 at the Naval State University Gymnasium.
An estimated 500 young people from 2 archdioceses and 8 dioceses in Central and Eastern Visayas region will attend the half-day event that will start at 7am, according to Fr. Cornelio Amante, Jr., regional youth director of CEVR.
Amante said that the Love Rocks! Forum will still center on the love of friends, family, relatives, special someone and most especially the love of God for all.
“The forum will have sharers who will talk about their personal experiences and their search for love. And in order for the youth to easily relate to the forum, we will also pattern the format from the previous run which is a talk show-style format,” Amante added.
Forums in all regions will have the same content and creativity, except for the invited guests.
The organizers are using social media networks like Facebook and Twitter to promote and invite young people to the event.
On this matter, Fr. Conegundo Garganta of the Episcopal Commission on Youth said that if the youth forum will not be completely celebrated in all regions before the end of the CBCP Year of the Youth, it will be regions’ task to still continue the event if their region has not yet accomplished it.
The original plan was for the youth forum to take place during the National Youth Cross’ visit to the regions, but the National Pilgrim Youth Cross is already finished doing its journey in the said region.
Since January this year, the National Youth Cross has been visiting different dioceses in the country.
The youth forum is scheduled to happen next in Northern Luzon. Love Rocks! Forum is one of the activities for the celebration of the CBCP Year of the Youth. (Jandel Posion)
