IPIL City, Feb. 21, 2013— The 10th Youth Congress of the Mindanao-Sulu Pastoral Conference (MSPC) opens on Monday, Feb. 25 to March 1.

The congress on the theme “Our Faith, Our Mission Towards Evangelization” will take place in Ipil City, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Around 200 youth leaders and ministers from the five archdioceses and 17 dioceses under the MSPC are expected to join the event.

Organizers said that this year’s theme draws inspiration from the celebration of the Year of Faith “to embrace the challenge of becoming protagonist of New Evangelization”.

Prior to the congress, May Solano of the MSPC Youth Secretariat said that participants will attend the traditional ‘days in the parishes’ on Feb. 23 to 24.

“It is an overnight event where participants will be assigned to different parishes in the dioceses to have an immersion and experience of the life in the parish that they will be assigned,” Solano said.

The 5-day congress will formally kick off with a Mass that will be presided by Ipil Bishop Julius Tonel.

Among the activities of the event include catechesis on mass media and youth ministry, workshops; Taize prayer, Bible quiz bee, “Emmaus” walk, and the launching of module for formation program. (Jandel Posion)
