More Imus youth as PPCRV volunteers for midterm polls

MANILA, March 13, 2013—More young people have committed to serve as volunteers of their local Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in Cavite to ensure a Clean, Honest, Accurate and Meaningful Elections (CHAMP), according to the Diocese of Imus. 

Fr. Lino De Castro, head of the PPCRV in Imus during last week’s meeting of volunteers, discussed the PPCRV’s tasks in respective parishes before, during and after the election. 

He also stressed the need for more volunteers in the parish level in order to monitor more precincts during the elections. 

De Castro said that volunteers for the 2013 polls will not just commit for a CHAMP elections but a Clean, Honest, Righteous, Integral, Sincere and True (CHRIST). 

Meanwhile, Commodore Amado Sanglay, a lay coordinator, discussed the procedure and operation plan on what volunteers will do in their different parishes. 

A send-off ceremony will be held on May 4 for all volunteers at St. Jude Parish in Trece Martirez City from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. (Jandel Posion with reports from Esteve Mata)
