BAGUIO City, Dec. 6, 2012—A Catholic lay youth group is holding a musical concert to help a community of indigenous people in Tarlac and build chairs and tables for two schools in Baguio City.

Aside from helping build the water system of the Aeta Community of Sitio Yangka in Capas, Tarlac, organizers of the concert are tying up with ISA (Initiatives for Social Action), to also help build chairs for Grade 1 of Happy Hallow Elementary School, and additional chairs and tables for the BCNHS-Rizal Annex at Pacdal, both in Baguio City.

Titled “Brevstock 13 Ground Zero: 1,000 Voices, a Thousand Dreams, One Foundation,” the concert is slated for a two-day run?December 7 and 8.

Organized by the Breviarians or Brevs, the event is a program of the youth organization based in Baguio City which is serving at the Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral.

It started as a small group of young Catholics eager and full of zeal to serve the Lord through the Church. The group broke all stereotypes and boundaries by opening its doors to young members of the community in Baguio.

The concert is an opportunity for the youth group to evangelize through music, also a way of giving thanks to the Lord for the year that has been and for the year that will be, “in response to our faith and mission,” the organizers said.

Through the musical, the group hopes to express its vision while creating a venue where people will be able to reach out to the less fortunate.

The event also serves as a vehicle to promote Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) to a bigger audience and turns it into a lasting experience for its attendees as well as create an avenue for the first ever Battle of the Bands for CCM.

Endorsing the youth activity, Baguio Bishop Carlito Cenzon called on all Christian Communities in the diocese to support the worthy endeavor of the Brevarians.

Concert’s venue will be at the Baguio Convention Center with tickets sold for Php 100.00. December 7 concert will be for the Battle of the Bands from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. while December 8 is for the Gala concert from 7 to 10 p.m.
