The Lipa Archdiocesan Youth Day 2013 was also a time for young people from the different vicariates to get to know each other and make new friends.

LIPA City, Jan. 7, 2014 – Pay close attention and you will know it is God who has been calling you from birth, a bishop tells hundreds of Lipa youth.

“You are called by God that’s why you are all here. You are first called from conception when He gave you life. You are not called by devil for it brings death. You are not called by money for you are born naked. You are not called by the world for it brings worldly things,” Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles told some 800 young people during a holy mass at  the Lipa Archdiocesan Youth Day last December 30.

According to Archbishop Arguelles, these truths point to a person’s destiny.

“You are all called by God for greatness,” he added, reminding the delegates gathered at the Multi-purpose Hall of Immaculate Conception Parish, Balayan, Batangas about life’s true meaning.

In a YouthPinoy interview, Arguelles emphasized the need for young people to always seek and meet Christ, especially in the sacraments.

He also envisioned young people with a strong missionary spirit always proclaiming the Gospel and “giving everything in the service of God.”

The event borrowed the theme of World Youth Day 2013, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’.
