MANILA, Dec. 12, 2010—Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, SJ, Ateneo Law School dean emeritus and newspaper columnist, will launch his third book on Philippine presidents on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas Center for Continuing Legal Education and Research, Ateneo Professional Schools at Rockwell Center, Makati City.
The book, first to be published for Fr. Bernas by Jesuit Communications, is titled A Living Constitution, Constitutional Issues Arising during the Gloria Arroyo Presidency, Part II. The first two books involving the Estrada Presidency and the first part of the Gloria Arroyo Presidency were published by Ateneo Press.
Fr. Bernas was handpicked by the late President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino to join the 50-man Constitutional Commission that framed the 1987 Constitution that eventually replaced the 1973 Marcos and the Freedom Constitution of 1986.
