Thanking the seminary community for their trust, Fr. Midyphil Billones encouraged everyone to look forward to the new formation year with vigor and enthusiasm.

“May we take on the challenge to embrace this new formation year as an adventure to the mysterious, the awesome, and the wonderful road that God lead us to go forward,” he said.

San Jose de Antique Bishop Jose Romeo Lazo, D.D, also a member of the episcopal board of St. Joseph seminary presided the Mass.

During his homily, Lazo urged the seminarians to have a new perspective in seminary formation since there are certain aspects that are taken for granted like the ordinary activities which oftentimes are considered routine.

“It is in seeing things with awe and wonder that we can appreciate newness in life and allow God to unfold His presence even in the ordinary things and activities in the seminary,” he said.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the Dean of Studies, Msgr. Peter Correa, presented the seminary’s academic faculty and staff to the Episcopal Board which included Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, Bishop Lazo and Bishop Gerardo Alminaza.

For his part, Billones presented the team of formators and seminary personnel, saying that the seminarians are the reason why the formators and the staff are in the seminary.

He also said that it is the grace of God that makes them dynamic instruments of the Father in shaping the seminarians. (Sem. Christopher P. Villa)
