SAN PABLO City, March 6, 2011—A congregation of nuns here which takes care of one of the oldest retired bishop in the country is celebrating their patron’s feastday on Tuesday.
The Missionary Sisters of the Holy Face of Jesus (MSHFJ) celebrates their Feastday on March 8, the Feast of the Holy Face of Jesus (The Shroud of Turin).
The MSHFJ is presently providing abode to retired Bishop Emeritus Pedro N. Bantigue, DD at their main convent in Brgy San Antonio, this city. The prelate who just celebrated his 91st Birthday last January 31 is the founder of the sister’s congregation decades ago. He shepherded the diocese of San Pablo or 28 long years.
Bishop Bantigue became first bishop of the Diocese of San Pablo on July 26, 1967 and was retired on July 12, 1995.
The Fiesta Day Concelebrated Mass on March 8 is set at 10:00 a.m. and the main celebrant is San Pablo Bishop Leo M. Drona.
