Bishop Elenito Galido of Iligan officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for a chapel to house the relic of St. Filomena inside the compound of the Benedictine Nuns’ Monastery in Sta. Filomena, Iligan City, July 11, 2013. The construction of the chapel is a joint project of the Benedictine Nuns led by St. Lucia Gillera, OSB and the people of Brgy. Sta. Filomena. The relic of the saint will be housed in the chapel so the people could venerate their patron saint during their fiesta.
