MANILA, Nov. 17, 2011— Funeral services will be held on Nov. 22 for Bishop Artemio Rillera of the Diocese of San Fernando in La Union who died last Sunday.
Services will be held at the Saint William Cathedral at 9 a.m. that will be presided by Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas.
The wake of Bishop Rillera is currently being held at the Diocesan Seminary of the Heart of Jesus located at the city’s Brgy. San Vicente.
On the evening of Nov. 20, his remains will be transferred to St. William Cathedral for last public viewing until Nov. 21where a necrological service will be held 3 p.m.
The Funeral Mass and burial will be on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. where several bishops and archbishops are expected to attend.
The 69-year old missionary from the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) succumbed to asthma attack after holding Mass at the Seminary of the Heart of Jesus.
Bishop Rillera was born in Naguilian town. He was ordained and installed Bishop of Bangued on August 28, 1993.
He was appointed bishop of San Fernando de La Union on April 1, 2005 and installed as its fourth bishop on June 14, 2005. [CBCPNews]
