MANILA, May 30, 2013—A youth forum organized by the Archdiocesan Commission on Youth (ACY) Manila will focus and reflect on the young people’s belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Around 800 young people from all over the Archdiocese of Manila are expected to attend the quarterly youth forum called “Ka-Talk” that will be held at the Cardinal Sin Auditorium of Paco Catholic School on June 8 from 1:00-5:00 in the afternoon.

“The noble task of the youth ministry is to bring young people to Christ. Only after such meeting with Christ can we consider strengthening the existing relationship with Him. Once a relationship with Christ is found, the young are easily led to a deeper accepting of the Faith,” Fr. Jade Licuanan, the ACY commissioner, said in his invitation letter to the youth.

“The goal of reintroducing Christ stands side by side with the Church’s mission of evangelization. The most urgent task of youth ministry today is to enable our young people to come to a personal, conscious, and free decision of Faith and conversion. Without this essential option, their whole Christian life would be without basis and meaning,” Licuanan added.

Licuanan is inviting young people to join the forum in order to reflect more about Jesus Christ to the Ka-Talk #51 titled “Who Do You Say I Am?.”

Resource speaker for the forum is Obet Cabrillas of Kerygma who will discuss on the youth’s “relationship with Jesus.”

Aside from the forum proper, youth attendees will also be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, joining the simultaneous consecration of Filipinos to the Blessed Virgin Mother on the same day.

ACY Manila delegates to the World Youth Day 2013 celebration in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will also be introduced to the youth attendees. (Jandel Posion)
