MANILA, August 10, 2012 – With the sun shining on most parts of Metro Manila, CBCP President Archbishop Jose Palma calls the faithful to celebrate a Holy Mass on August 13 for the intentions of the ‘habagat’ rain victims and the RH Bill.

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist will be held at St. Peter’s Parish, along Commonwealth Avenue at 7 p.m.

Archbishop Palma coursed the invitation through CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life Chairman Bishop Gabriel Reyes, particularly calling on family and life groups to be there.

He specifically mentioned the Mass would be for the “enlightenment of the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government for the non-passage of the RH Bill”, as well as for the victims of the intense rain and flooding that have affected Metro Manila and Luzon.

To date, at least 60 have died because of the destruction brought on by the southwest monsoon.

Last week, the House of Representatives voted to end the period of interpellations for the controversial RH Bill. [Nirva’ana Ella Delacruz]
