MANILA, April 29, 2013—A Church group has re-launched a project that would aid voters in the upcoming May elections.

Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB), an organization founded by the Jesuits has re-launched “Gabay Halalan” — a text and call center facility to provide electorates relevant and unbiased information for the coming May polls.

The project, which began operating last April 22, provides voters with basic services such as a precinct finder, candidate profiles from senatorial to local candidates, party-list profiles, and election information.

With 150 volunteers, the call and text center facility is open to election-related questions that voters can access through their mobile phones.

On May 5, the facility will be operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On May 6 to 10, the operations will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on May 11 to 13, the facility will operate for 24 hours.

The group’s headquarters is located at the CTC 313, Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan, Quezon City.

The project is spearheaded in partnership with the Ateneo de Manila, Ateneo Task Force 2013, Globe, iVolunteer, Miriam College, LENTE (Legal Network for Truthful Elections), and Magis Solutions.

For inquiries about the election, voters may text SLBGH2013<space> CONCERN/S <space> ADDRESS to the numbers 2327 (For Globe subscribers) and 09178902327 (for Non-globe subscribers). They can also be reached through landline: (02) 509-0414, 509-0081, 509-0087, 509-0420, 509-0497, 509-0836, 509-1747, 509-1860, 509-1876, and 509-3229, or their website www.slb.ph which contains all the information about the elections.
