MANILA, August 20, 2013—Church and civic groups intensified their plea for additional help for victims of Typhoon Labuyo that devastated the province of Aurora last week.
In response to calls for assistance from communities affected by Typhoon Labuyo, Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB) together with Habitat for Humanity Philippines will help rebuild their homes through shelter rehabilitation.
“Today, we are making a plea for financial donations for the affected families in Casiguran, Aurora where National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 1,245 houses were totally damaged and 4,024 houses were partially damaged. Let us continue to extend our help to our brothers and sisters in Aurora Province,” SLB said.
