Bishop Drona leads Crystal Anniversary of Laguna parish

SAN PABLO City, April 26, 2011—San Pablo Bishop Leo Drona will lead the faithful of the San Gabriel the Archangel Parish, San Pablo City in the observance of their crystal anniversary celebration on April 29.

San Gabriel Parish will begin a triduum celebration on April 27 with an Alay Lakad Para sa Parokya (Walk for the Church) at about 5:00 am. The Holy Mass would be said at 6:00 pm.

Activities for the second day will include the Holy Mass at 6:30 am, followed by the sports festival to be participated in by both young and elderly parishioners.

The day will also feature various presentations from the different barangays in coordination with their respective Chapel coordinators.

A raffle draw of tickets for the fundraising project launched by the parish earlier will follow at about 4:00 pm. The proceeds of the project will go partly for the completion of the church building construction and for the anniversary
celebration.

The program prepared by the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) led by its president Ligaya T. Katigbak showed that Bishop Drona will be the main celebrant of the Concelebrated Mass at 8:00 am on April 29, the actual day of the celebration.

The prelate will be assisted by members of the clergy and former parish priests or pastors of the 15 year-old parish since it was established in 1995.

After the Eucharist, the parishioners will join a motorcade around the parish main streets, followed by various games to be participated in by both children, young and elderly members of the parish.

The parish of San Gabriel is composed of five other barangays which include Brgy’s Bautista, Santiago 1, Santiago 2, San Bartolome, and San Miguel. The center of the parish is located at Teomora Village Phase 2 in Brgy San Gabriel. (Fr. Romy Ponte)
