MANILA, August 6, 2013— The Catholic Archdiocese of Cotabato has condemned the bombing incident in Cotabato City yesterday that cost eight lives and led to 30 people being injured.

“Our Church, along with all the priests, religious, and the whole of Cotabato are strongly condemning this bomb attack,” Cotabato Auxiliary Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo.

“We condemned to the highest degree this new attack in Cotabato City,” he said.

Bagaforo also offered their sympathy to the victims of the attack and their families.

A bomb placed on a parked vehicle went off along a major thoroughfare in Cotabato City on Monday resulting to massive damages and several casualties.

The motive remains unknown as no group has yet to claim responsibility for the bomb attack.

The bishop also said that whoever is behind the attack, he is hoping that they will at least spare the lives of innocent civilians.

“To the highest degree, we appeal to those responsible to stop these attacks and re-think what they are doing since many civilians are being affected,” said the bishop.

Bagaforo called on the faithful to continue praying that peace will finally reign in the region. (CBCPNews)
